Preschool Fundraising Tips

The parents must be on board. With any campaign at this level, the selling responsibility will 100% fall on the parents. It's imperative that whatever program your group decides to go with, the parents are on board and agree to actively participate.

It's never too early to add an educational element to the process. Use this as a teaching moment for the kids. Explain to them why this process is necessary.

Two yearly sales are enough. We've seen many schools inundate parents with fundraisers throughout the year. This is not necessary and may have a negative effect on your parents. We find that one sale in the fall and one sale in the spring are more than enough. You need to make sure you don't burn out your active supporters. Their continued involvement is essential for your group's success.

Keep the campaign short and on point. Two weeks is more than enough time to run a sale. Anything longer may be counter-productive. We don't want these activities dominating the school. Keep them quick. Promote your message, ask for support and then move on. School is and always should be about education.
