Flower Bulb Selling Strategy

One of our consistently best sellers is the flower bulb fundraiser. The bulbs practically sell themselves to gardeners. But how do they go over with non-gardeners? They do well, but there’s always room for improvement. We’ve developed a selling strategy that helps with selling to the non-gardening crowd.

Our flower bulbs are one of our top selling programs, especially in this day and age where groups are looking to do environmentally friendly programs. We are encouraging our groups to promote their flower bulb fundraiser as a “Beautify the Community” Campaign. 

As part of this campaign, your groups will ask your customers to buy the bulbs and donate them right back to your group where your members can help plant the bulbs in a location that benefits the entire community, such as a school, community center or senior living facility.

Of course, most of your customers will want to keep the bulbs for their own gardens / property, which is great. But this strategy is extremely effective when selling to:

-         Non-gardeners

-         People who live in apartments

-         Businesses

-         Environmentally conscience people who like the idea of making the community a greener place!

Plus, this will teach kids the importance of giving back to the community while supporting the environment at the same time. Many of our groups make a special event out of it when planting the bulbs. The kids and the parents really enjoy this.

Of course, each community is different and you may need to tailor this program to fit your needs. But you’ll see your community support (along with your sales) skyrocket!
